Playlist trickiness

By now most of us know that the first generation Zune hardware, software, and firmware were little more than a re-skinned and re-named version of their generic PlaysForSure counterparts. This holds true for for the "ZPL" playlist format (as opposed to Windows Media Player's WPL extension). Turns out the Zune playlist format, which has carried over to the new, written-from-scratch software and firmware, is little more than a WPL file with a few names and tags changed around. It's still the same XML-based format with most of the same rules, restrictions, and features as its Windows Media Player counterpart.

Check out the article for the exact details on how to switch between the formats. And if you just can't get enough of the Zune font, check out Long Zhen's clever hackery from just after launch. It's called Zegoe (based on Vista's Segoe) and it can be found in your ZuneShellResources.dll file. You just have to know where to look ;)
