Amazon.com's Black Friday Deals

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Digital Home Events" @ 09:47 AM

http://www.amazon.com/b/?node=38408...homethoughts-20

"You shouldn't have to stand in a long line to get a great deal. We're searching for the best Black Friday deals everywhere--including deals other stores are planning--so we can meet or beat their prices and bring them to you even earlier. These limited-supply offers will go quickly but we'll add new ones throughout the day, every day this week, so you can skip the long lines and still save a bundle."

Amazon.com has some great deals today (Fuji Finepix camera for $79 anyone?), so if you're going to do some online shopping at Amazon, do me a favour and use our affiliate link. It costs you nothing, but gives back a bit to the sites that you enjoy. Thanks! :-)

Great New Egg Deal For Zune 4GB

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune News" @ 03:39 PM

http://www.newegg.com/Shopping/Shop...N82E16855604020

There's a great deal over at New Egg right now on the Zune 4GB and it runs for the next week. Currently they are selling the 4GB models for 47.99 which is a steal if you are looking for a low priced Zune since they normally sell it for $99.99! Not only that, New Egg is offering an additional $19.99 off if you take a combo with the Altec Lansing im414 speaker dock. There is another combo offered with the Zune premium headphones that is $20 off for that combo. I don't particularly like the im414 so I'd suggest going with the premium headphones. Either way you're getting a great deal. I will probably pick up one for when I'm out running or at the gym myself!

(Thanks to jdmichal for spotting this!)

July Zune Accessory Sale

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune News" @ 06:31 AM

http://www.zunestore.net/

"Throughout the month of July, the Zune Originals store, an offshoot of Zune.net, is offering many of its Zune accessories at 50% off, and quite a few more at smaller discounts. If you own a Zune, there is no better time to pick up those accessories you’ve been wanting."

This is a pretty good time to buy! The challenge is figuring out what is on sale. If you go to the Zune Originals store then you'll find that the prices have been adjusted on their info page. The only way to know for sure is to compare the prices to those at Zune.net since those have not been adjusted. A quick check revealed that the sync cable and the premium headphones mentioned in the article at htmlcenter are both on sale. Unfortunately it appears that the speakers are not. I'd have loved an iHome for $50! (How about that, iHome? I'll send you a check for $50 and you send me a speaker? Let's make this happen.)

Incipio Zune Accessory Sale

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune Accessories" @ 04:32 PM

http://www.myincipio.com/category/1...4_8_gb_4gb_8gb/

If you’re an owner of one of the flash Zune models, then this may interest you. Incipio, maker of many cases and other accessories, is selling a large number of cases for the flash Zune at half price! If you need a case then now might be a good time to head over and see what they have since there is also no shipping in the United States. And I would imagine that covers about 90% of their potential customers. (Sorry Jason!)

If you don’t have a flash Zune there are a few accessories that are more universal such as screen wipes and a variety of chargers. Nothing amazing really but if you need a charger then you could pick one up here.

20% Off Zune 4/8 At Dell

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune News" @ 07:54 PM

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...d=6779&~ck=anav

“Dell Home has a Web low on the Microsoft Zune 4GB Media Player in Black. It’s $100 - 20% coupon + $8 S&H = $88 shipped! Don’t forget Dell’s 20% coupon: F594VCX3MZN?CF (expires: 12/3)”

Gadget Review spotted a great deal from Dell if you’re looking to get a Zune flash player. This 20% off coupon isn’t only good for the 4GB player though. You can use this coupon on an 8GB player as well which gives a very nice $28 discount. This is one of the better deals I’ve seen so far so if you’re still on the fence this could be the time to buy a Zune! Click here to jump to the Dell site.

Remember, that coupon code is: F594VCX3MZN?CF

Best Buy Canada Offering $40 Off Zune 4 for Trade-In of Old MP3 Player

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Zune Events" @ 12:17 PM

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/dept....=EN&catid=22573

This offer is light on details, but the image pretty much speaks for itself: if you're in Canada and you want to save $40 off a 4 GB Zune, grab your old MP3 player and head in to any Best Buy. I wonder if this is a sign of the Zune 4 fading away, with the Zune 8 becoming the new entry-level Zune and a 16 GB Zune becoming the new high-end Zune? This is just me doing some wishful thinking of course...

New Egg Zune Clearance Sale

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune News" @ 01:39 PM

http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemai...-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA

Looking for a good deal on a Zune? Reader inteller has spotted a flier from New Egg that's currently promoting the Zune 4 on clearance for $120.99. That's a pretty good price and I considered pulling the trigger for a moment. I discovered, however, that the only color that is getting this price treatment is the pink model. But still, if you want a Pink Zune 4, then that's a pretty good price. Thanks inteller!

Zune Holiday Deals!

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune Talk" @ 02:03 PM

http://www.zune.net/en-us/products/holidayoffers/default.htm

It’s a holiday Zune sale bonanza! I’m sure that all of your loved ones would like nothing more than to get a Zune and with the holiday season upon us, its time to find great deals on them. Zune.net has listed several different options for bargain hunters. Here’s what your choices are:

Zune 80 - $239.99
Zune 8 - $184.99
Zune 4 - $139.99

Also, with the purchase of a Zune 4, you will get $5 to put towards an MP3 purchase from Amazon and a Zune 8 will get you $15 for music.

Zune 80 – Free shipping (I guess if you want Best Buy Reward Zone points this isn’t a bad deal…)

Zune 4/8 - $15 eGift card with purchase
Zune 80 - $20 eGift card with purchase

Zune 4 - $147.88
Zune 8 - $194.54
Zune 80 - $247.88

Zune 4/8 also get 97 cent shipping

Personally I think the Amazon deal is the best one. Circuit City isn’t too bad since you do get a gift card too! Anyone getting their loved ones a Zune for the holidays? (Is there any better way to express your love?)

Zune's a Woot: $149.99

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune Talk" @ 10:42 PM

http://www.woot.com

"The Hipster stood over here and gently guided her hand on the touchpad. Together, wordlessly, they found a peculiarly-named web site selling a peculiarly-named device called a Zune. Becky didn’t much care for the site’s ugly orange-and-green colors, or the long-winded, unfunny sales copy. But as she browsed the specs, she realized that the Zune was the player she needed. A 30GB hard drive, a 3” color screen bigger than the iPod Video’s, and $50-$100 cheaper than everywhere else."

I’m not even going to spend much time typing out a long explanation. Just know that today, Woot has decided to pick the Zune as their discount. Its currently $149.99! I don’t know how long this is going to last so you need to act fast if you want one at this awesome price.

I know that if you don’t have a Zune yet, you’re probably waiting for the Halo 3 edition to come out. That’s really the only reason I can think of to not own one yet. However, if money is an object for you, then you should really head over to Staples right now. From now until June 23, Staples is running a sale on Zunes. You can get a white or black Zune for $189.99 and free shipping. I don’t think you’ll find a better price than that!

It’s not too late to get your Dad one for Father’s Day, either. Thank you, Vincent, for sending this in.

HP Sells the Zune

Posted by Darius Wey in "Zune Talk" @ 12:00 PM

http://www.mobilitysite.com/2006/12/hp_selling_microsoft_zune.php

"A few years back, Hewlett Packard sold a licensed version of the Apple iPod through their retail and web channels. The only differences was the back had HP+ engraved on it instead of the infamous Apple logo. It was a nice experiment, but it didn't last too long. It seems that HP is again selling an MP3 player, at least on it's website. The are carrying the Microsoft Zune, listing it at the retail price of $249.99, and has all three colors available. In true HP fashion, it each one has it own model number. They are the rx798 (brown), rx797 (white), and rx796 (black). Some how I don't see anyone saying, "Hey, check out my HP rx796!" anytime soon."

To be fair, HP still calls it a Zune, and the rx79-what model numbers are mostly for internal use. But model numbers aside, it'll be interesting to see just how many Zune devices HP will sell over the coming year. If it sells well, both HP and Microsoft will have a reason to smile. But as a consumer, you already have a reason to smile. The Zune is eligible for a small price cut through special purchasing programs or coupons, so you may have the opportunity to save a few bucks by taking the HP road.
